The freshwater snail species Physa acuta distributed in the whole globe is an important intermediate host for many parasites such as Angiostrongylis cantonensis and Echinostoma revolutum.There wasn’t discovered during 1970’s investigation in Beijing,China.This snail was discovered in the lake or river of Chaoyang Park,Yuyuantan Park,the Old Summer Palace and Olympic Village during the main parasitic epidemiological investigation of Beijing region in 2007.It was the first record of this snail in Beijing,which is believed as an invasive species.Research and ecological risk assessment related to P.acuta should be implemented and caused more concerns for the government and scientists.
